Have you recently passed your "Matura" exams (preferably with economics as your specialism) or completed a three-year course at a commercial school (Handelsschule) recognized by the federal or regional government? Or do you already have a few semesters' experience of studying and want to focus more on practical work?
Julius Baer Junior Programme
Specifically for high school graduates we offer the Julius Baer Junior Programme in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, which comprises the training course "Training in banking and finance for high school graduates". Thanks to a comprehensive training curriculum, this course (which is certified by the Swiss Bankers Association) will give you the opportunity to learn the principles of banking and get to know your future working role through on-the-job assignments.
Training opportunities
The Julius Baer Junior Programme lasts 18 months and can be split into on-the-job and off-the-job sections:
|
On-the-job
The on-the-job section is divided into three practical assignments, each lasting six months. For these assignments, you will work in three different sectors, thereby gaining an insight into the world of banking. Throughout this period you will be guided by a competent advisor, and will also have the opportunity to complete a project relating to the bank. |
Off-the-job
Off-the-job training takes place in the "Centre for Young Professionals in Banking" (CYP) in Zurich. Here you will acquire a basic understanding of the world of banking. This is complemented by training sessions held within the bank to develop your specialist knowledge of Julius Baer and broaden your methodical and social abilities. |
On completion of the training, you will be awarded the diploma "Training in Banking and Finance for High School Graduates", certified by the Swiss Bankers Association. As a well-trained, talented young employee, you will then have the opportunity to continue your career at Julius Baer.
Application
We will be pleased to receive your application for the Julius Baer Junior Program 2009 from autumn 2008 on.
